We have three ways for you, as a volunteer, to sign up for services.
Online signup offers you the greatest flexibility and widest choice. It is our favorite too, because it is the
most efficient for our office staff. Every week, we send you and email with a link to this page.
You can sign up online as far in advance as you like, but we really appreciate it if you look at the services needed in the next few days. These are the ones we are getting nervous about.
You can always use the online signup regardless of what you told us about your vacation or weekly schedule or contact preferences.
For privacy reasons, we can't put a link to the online signup sheet on a public website. But the link is sent to all active volunteers every week. If you are a volunteer and have not been
getting the weekly emails with the link, please make sure we have the
correct email address for you and check your junk email folders to see
if it has been diverted there.
Email messages We will use email between three and four working days before a service is needed.
We send emails to selected volunteers whose schedules (see below) are compatible with the service needed and have indicated they can be emailed with service requests.
When you receive an email requesting help with a service, you can either reply to the email, call the office, or sign up online. Before you do this, especially if some time has passed since the email was sent, please check your later emails to see if we have already filled the service and sent you a "not needed" email.
Phone calls are made one or two days before a service is needed and are our last resort when the time of a request is near and no one has signed up for it online or responded to an email.
If we call you and leave a phone message, you can either phone the office, (508) 514 7067, email us at
CallManager@NausetNeighbors.org, or sign up online. Calls are preferred, because of the short schedule.
Before you do this, please check your emails and later voice mails to see if we have already filled the service and sent you a "not needed" email or called you and told you we found someone else.
Vacations: Tell us when you will be on vacation or otherwise not available. We will not call or email you during this period.
